Triumph seem to have abandoned the idea of competing with Hardley Worthitson - but - HD are coming the other way to plant their number 10's solidly on Triumph's ground, ie competing non-Jap streetfighters and adventure bikes. Triumph can continue following the fashion for adventure bikes and streetfighters or they can keep their brush strokes wide and play the longer game - are Triumph heading in the right direction? When every manufacturer has adventure bikes and streetfighters up to the eyeballs - and Triumph have abandoned their UK manufacturing base - what's their unique selling point?

maybe the Queen should get involved. just sayin

I read the article and was somewhat impressed. Very true, Triumph's game plan may need a reshuffle. One factor in the equation, Triumph doesn't have deep pockets like Harley and Jap manufacturers.

As for unique selling points imo; Heritage, Quality, Style, not a Bandwagon

Japanese pockets have been deep after WW2.
Harley's pockets are old worn out jeans with holes in them. But looking at the link they are envisioning the future. They know they need to catch a different potential buyer that aren't older baby boomers that are reaching the end of the classic bike age as this age group is riding into the sunset.
The Bonny platform will sell, but nothing is for ever. I cannot comment with any degree of thruth, as I don't know what triumph plans to do.
I must admit it can't be easy. But then again what is a survey for.,,. tommorow or the future?

...talk about deep pockets, cult films like Easy Rider and mc clubs catapulted Harley to stratospheric success. Whereas The Wild One film showcased Triumph in 1953.

for starters, Triumph should produce a blockbuster mc movie classic!

In my eyes also Rich. All the James Bond movies sold the cars he was driving. triumph would rather showcase some pictures in Cycle Gear adds. There could be something we don't know aside from October's event. But to be arrogantly stuck in "only" past ideas seams foolish. But maybe they have more than a Rolex up there sleve
